How old does my child have to be to travel alone?
Acceptance of Unaccompanied Children on Reno Air
Children under 12 years of age who are not accompanied on the same flight
and in the same compartment by a passenger twelve years of age or over are
accepted only under the following conditions:
1.Unaccompanied children under 5 years of age are not accepted
for transportation under any condition.
2.Unaccompanied children at least 5 years of age, but under 8 years of age
are accepted for on-line transportation only when through service is provided
without a change of aircraft.
3.Unaccompanied children at least 8 years of age, but under 12 years of
age will be a accepted for on-line transportation with or without a change
of aircraft.
4.To be accepted for transportation, the child must be brought to the airport
at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure by a parent or responsible
adult who must remain with the child until enplaned and furnish Reno Air
with a commitment (including any reasonably requested verification) that
the child will be met by another parent or responsible adult upon deplaning
at his/her destination.
5.All travel must be on flights on which the child holds confirmed reservations
from the airport of origin to the first point of stopover where the child
is to be met by a parent or responsible adult upon deplaning.
6.Reno Air reserves the right to refuse to transport an unaccompanied child
who resists or refuses unaccompanied transportation, and
7.Reno Air does not assume any financial or guardianship responsibilities
for unaccompanied children beyond those applicable to an adult passenger.
A $25 Escort fee will be assessed each way in addition to the applicable
fare, with respect to children making an on-line connection. Upon request,
the same escort service is available to passengers ages 12-17 at the applicable
$25 fee. A single $25 escort fee will be charged each way for 2 or more
children traveling together on the same itinerary.
