Before Reno Air developed their own mileage program, frequent fliers had the ability to earn American AAdvantage miles on Reno Air flights.

This was a great deal for fliers, since the American routes extended the value of flying on Reno Air.

It does make you wonder if there was a plan waiting in the wings (no pun intended) for the American takeover of Reno Air in 1999.
